15 Upcoming Bollywood Films That Make 2018 Look So Much Better Than 2017

And the next thing we know is that 2017 is almost at it closing time. 2018 is coming soon and we are thrilled for the new year. 2017 saw a lot of good Bollywood movies with ‘Newton’ getting selected for Oscars as well. Movies like Half Girlfriend, Harry Met Sejal, and Tubelight disappointed us but it was this we also saw movies like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Secret Superstar and the much talked about Padmavati too (Though this technically sees the year 2018 now)! However, now that we are about to step in the new year, here are 15 Bollywood movies that we are looking forward to watching in 2018.

1. 2.0

The much-awaited duo of Thalaiva Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar will be seen in the upcoming movie 2.0 with Amy Jackson will be releasing on January 25, 2018. This would be India’s biggest release post ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion‘ mania.

2. Padman

R.Balki’s next movie is Padman, with Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte. The movie is based on the real-life chronicles of Lakshmi Prasad who found an economical method of making sanitary napkins. Twinkle Khanna‘s last novel was based on him as well. The movie is releasing early than its tentative date, on  26 January 2018. 

3. Chanda Mama Door Ke

With this one, Bollywood is all set to explore Space for the first time. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and R. Madhavan, the story is set on India’s first astronaut landing on the moon with Sushant being the astronaut. The film is set to release on January 26, 2018.

4. Pari

Coming in February, Anushka Sharma‘s next film is Pari that was more than enough to steer a reaction with her spooky bruised first look. The second poster of the movie is keeping us counting days till we get to watch the trailer. The movie hits the screens on 9 February 2018. 

5. Aiyaary

Releasing parallel to Pari on the same day as February 9, 2018, is Aiyaary with Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra leading the roles.

6. Baaghi 2

If you’ve survived the first one, here’s Tiger Shroff coming again with Baaghi 2, this time with Disha Patani and let’s hope the real-life couple can stir some sparks! The movie releases on 27th April 2018.

7. Manikarna

Clashing Baaghi is Kangana Ranaut‘s much talked, Manikarna, based on the biography of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi.

8. Dhadak

Launching star kids Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar, it is a remake of Marathi film, Sairaat. Set in Rajasthan, the love story deals cast issues and honor killing. The movie is expected to release on 6th July 2018.

9. 102 Not Out

Coming together after 26 years, Amitabh Bachchan is playing a 102 years old father to an adorable 75-year-old Rishi Kapoor. Both will be playing Gujarati characters. The movie was set to release in December 2017 but has been postponed due to an impending clash with Padmavati. We expect it to hit the screens in 2018.

10. Gold

Tentatively releasing on August 15, 2018, is the movie Gold, which would be based on the life of hockey player Dalbir Singh. None other than Akshay Kumar will be playing the lead role. The movie is going to be a debut project for Mouni Roy.

11. Kedarnath

The debut of Sara Ali Khan is happening in 2018 with Sushant Singh Rajput with Kedarnath that releases on December 21, 2018.

12. The Accidental Prime Minister

Anupam Kher will be seen playing the role of ex-Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh. The movie might be released by the end of 2018.

13. Saaho

Baahubali star Prabhas with Shraddha Kapoor will be coming together with the movie that hits the screens on April 20, 2018.

14. Anand L Rai’s Untitled Project

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming project with Anand L Rai is yet untitled, but the Baadshah will be seen essaying the role of a dwarf and might even have a duplicate role. It is reported that Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma too would be playing pivotal roles. The movie might be released in December 2018.

15. Thugs Of Hindostan

Being made on a budget of 210 crores, this is perhaps the biggest budget movie by Yash Raj productions. Starring Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Shaikh, we are waiting for this one to hit the screens. It is speculated to be a Diwali release on November 7.
