India Isn’t As Happy As Pakistan, Sri Lanka Or Nepal According To Happiness Index

Who knows right? It’s a question nobody is really prepared to answer unless they have a plate of biryani placed firmly in front of them, in which the case the answer is decidedly yes. But whether or not you have an answer, the World Happiness Index does, and it turns out that India isn’t as happy as we thought we were.

With 156 countries having been included in the review, India ranked at 133, dropping from its previous rank of 122.
In fact, India fared the poorest compared to of all its neighbours, with Pakistan at rank 75, Bhutan at 97, Nepal at 101, Bangladesh at 115 and Sri Lanka at 116.
The index focuses on 7 primary factors, including –
- GDP Per Capita
- Healthy Life Expectancy
- Social Support
- Freedom To Make Life Choices
- Perceptions Of Corruption
It’s not that far-fetched to think that our nation is upset, considering recent developments that have altered the nation’s perceptions of their quality of living and their current administration.
Meanwhile, Finland ranks at number 1, which isn’t that surprising considering the country’s political stability and ample resources.
