Sridevi Declared The Best Actress At National Film Awards For Her Performance In ‘Mom’

Sridevi has been declared the Best Actress at the 65th National Film Awards for her performance in the film Mom.

Mom was her last feature-length film where she co-starred alongside Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

She played the role of an estranged mother who had to avenge the rape and murder of her daughter after the law and order machinery fails her. The movie is peppered with power-packed performances from other actors; most noticeably Akshay Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

The 54-year old star, passed away in Dubai after a cardiac arrest. She was attending her nephew’s wedding ceremony. Sridevi was a phenomenal actress. Her acting skills often made the lead actors, in an industry which was ruled by them, jealous.

Earlier this year, Sridevi was honoured at the In Memoriam section at the Oscars 2018.

The government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, in 2013.
