Simran Writer Apurva Asrani Writes A Heartfelt Facebook Post About His Bell’s Palsy

Simran and Aligarh writer, Apurva Asrani recently revealed a tough news for his fans. His collaboration with filmmaker Hansal Mehta was much talked about.

On Monday, the writer took to Facebook to talk about Bell’s Palsy. It was two months ago that he was diagnosed with it.

Bell’s Palsy is a kind of facial nerve paralysis. It paralyzes one side of the face and the common symptoms include weakness, muscle twitching, weakness, or total loss of the ability.

Apurva shared his experience with it on a Facebook post and what he has to say is heartbreaking.

“What causes this is still a mystery, but they gather that it could be a viral infection. Stress is a major factor and god knows I had more than my share of that in 2017.”

His facial features altered due to Bell’s Palsy and the way that people reacted to him was the most difficult part of the affliction.

He goes on to state:

When I walked in the street and people looked at me, there wasn’t the warmth that I was used to. My face drooped to one side, one eye wide and unblinking, and my mouth twisted. I realized how blessed I had been to be able to smile, (it really can do wonders for you.)

He further urges people to share their lows. The perfect image that social media propagates is not something that he appreciates.

His honest post does give us a lot to ponder.
