Twitter Dishes Out The Final Sentence On Salman Khan’s Blackbuck Poaching Conviction

1998 Black Buck poaching case reached a finality after 19 years of battling out in the court. Jodhpur court today finally convicted Salman Khan as guilty and acquitted Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Tabu. The law won this time around, setting an example that a celebrity is same as a regular citizen in the eyes of the court.

Salman Khan

It was during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hain that the actors were accused of hunting two blackbucks in Kankani near Jodhpur.

The public prosecutor of the time Bhawani Singh claimed there was enough evidence to support the accusation. In his statement, he said, “All of them were in a Gypsy car that night, with Salman Khan in the driving seat. He, on spotting a herd of black bucks, shot at and killed two of them. But on being spotted and chased, they fled from the spot leaving the dead animals there.”

Salman Khan, however, went on record to state that he was, in fact, feeding the blackbuck. The statement sounds false.

As per  Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, the sentence is a maximum of 6 years. The quantum of punishment that Salman Khan will be charged with is still to be decided by the court.

In midst of all these serious legal actions, the Twitter had some different things to say about the convictions.
