South African Batsman Scores 37 Runs In A Single Over And Creates A World Record
The South African cricketer was in the limelight recently for his stellar gameplay. Jean-Paul Duminy was playing for Cape Cobras in a one day cup match with the opponents – the Knights.
He went full throttle and scored a record-breaking 37 runs in a single over. It all started with unleashing four consecutive sixes. In between his sixers, he made two runs. Lucky for him the 6th ball which surpassed the boundary and gave him 4 runs, this, however, was called a no-ball. It earned him an extra ball and he took this golden opportunity to hit a sixer.
This was the sequence of his runs and it is quite an example of great gameplay.
He became only the second in the history of A-Class cricket worldwide to reach the most number of runs in an over. The number one record belongs to Zimbabwe’s Elton Chigumbura who scored a whopping 39 runs in 2013-14 in Dhaka Premier Division Match.
