Meet The Japanese Couple Who Traveled All The Way To India For Their Dream Tamil Wedding

Their fascination with Tamilian culture was so much that this Japanese couple flew from Tokyo to Madurai to get married. From exchanging the wedding vows in Tamil to taking seven rounds around the fire, the wedding was strictly traditional. The couple also had their wedding cards printed in Tamil.

The fascination is such that the bride and groom, Chiharu Obata and Yuto Ninaga, flew down to Madurai. Their adorable wedding pictures are going viral on social media. According to the reports, the couple had a small marriage in April 2017 in their home country.

However, Obata, the bride who is working in Tamil Nadu since 2014 grew a love for the culture. She is currently doing linguistic research in Tamil Nadu. Her research working included on the similarities between south Indian and Japanese culture. It is because of this research work she now speaks smooth Tamil.

The couple got in touch with a wedding planner and had their wedding arrangements done by them. She also says that while the Japanese refrain from marrying in a traditional way, she and Yuto had always wanted to come to Tamil Nadu and get married.

Yuto is even a fan of Kollywood actors Dhanush and Vijay and took inspiration from them to tie his veshti for the wedding ceremony. Isn’t it so romantic?
