‘How Dare You!’ An Angry Farhan Akhtar Tweets To BJP Leader Over ‘Low IQ’ Insult

Recently, BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao, in an interview to a news channel took a verbal dig at the filmmakers and people from the film fraternity while talking about the ongoing controversy on Tamil film Mersal. The film had scenes around the GST and the Digital India initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rao in the interview criticised the movie makers by saying, “In any case, most of our film stars have very low IQ, very low general knowledge.” The direct comment was not taken with utter disbelief at the leader’s generalization and an angry Farhan Akhtar tweeted to the leader saying,

Directed by Atlee, Mersal was a Diwali release and the BJP unit in Tamil Nadu had demanded the removal of certain dialogues in the movie that took a dig at the GST and Narendra Modi’s digitalization initiatives in India.

However, the tweet did not go well with Twitter as people started taking a dig at the film industry by quoting examples of when and where had people in Bollywood failed at basic general knowledge.

Though there is no need of generalizing the whole industry and being so condescending about it, Twitter isn’t very good at forgiving and forgetting!
