The GST Launch Is Going To Be A Gala Event And Here’s A List Of People Attending It

Tonight, the central hall of the Parliament will witness one of the most historic moments of our generation. The launch of India’s most sweeping tax reform will take place tonight and will be attended by the major dignitaries of the country including eminent politicians and celebrities.

President Pranab Mukherjee and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at the gala launch to mark this historic reform.

Here is a list of the people who’d be gracing the event that is going to dramatically re-shape the over USD 2 trillion economy.

The list also includes BJP president Amit Shah and former finance minister Yashwant Sinha. National Conference leader Abdul Rahim Rather and Former Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal will also be present at the launch.

Former GST Council chairman Sushil Kumar Modi, former finance ministers of West Bengal and Kerala Asim Dasgupta and KK Mani too have been invited. RBI Governor Urjit Patel and his predecessors Bimal Jalan, YV Reddy and D Subbaroa are also a part of this esteemed guest list!

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar has urged the members of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha to be present during the event.

Senior lawyers, scientists and members of the GST Council will also be present when the gong will be sounded at midnight to mark the arrival of Goods and Service Tax!

However, the Congress, the Left and the Trinamool Congress have decided to boycott the event.

GST is expected to gradually re-shape India’s business landscape, making the world’s fastest-growing major economy an easier place to do business but only time will tell.

The event surely looks gala and is bound to create history for our future generations to come!
