Firangi Fight Club Has A Khatarnaak Plot Twist While Desi Fight Club Doesn’t Even Have A Plot

I don’t know about you guys but most of my adult life has been spent looking for movies that are fun to watch with friends. Under influence, all movies seem funny but rarely do you come across cinema that can be watched time and again. And no, Jaani Dushmann is overrated.

I’m talking about desi Fight Club.

You’ve never heard of this movie? Don’t worry. You’ve definitely heard this song.

The movie starts with a bunch of college friends casually being cool and getting drunk. You know… the usual shit.

Everything, plus Ashish Chaudhary.

The similarities with the firangi version ends when they set up this place called Crossroads. But you won’t really care about the plot when you have people like this in the movie.

Four random dudes decide to start a ‘fight club’ so that guys have a place to beat the shit out of each other. This fight club becomes irrelevant after one-third of the movie and they start managing a bar.

There’s no need for the ‘fight club’ to exist in this movie. It’s like the director saw the firangi one, turned into a fan, and then decided to randomly put that element in his movie.

Location issues.

They are apparently in Mumbai for most part of the film but then the scenes are clearly from Delhi’s Hauz Khas. Then there are shots where the group of friends travel from Mumbai to Delhi in a car. It’s like Dil Chahta Hai minus the music, the acting, the direction and the cinematography.

They have a marijuana smoking, perennially high, dressed up in the cool-Undertaker costume and long haired Ashmit Patel playing a shady character in the movie.

And then they introduce him as … *drumrolls* Dinesh. DINESH. FUCKING DINESH!

Dinesh seems like the name of a harmless dude who probably greets you every time you across him in a lift.

Firangi Fight Club had too many rules and it felt like a secret society. But this is India, baby! Privacy is for suckers. Desi Fight Club ka ek hi rule hai that there are no rules!

If you look up IMDb for quotes from Fight Club, you get this:

Fight Club

Also, 9 out of 10 actors in the movie have long hair.
