Diljit Dosanjh Looks Impeccable In The Role Of India’s Hockey Legend, Sandeep Singh

We’d never thought that this lad from the land of five rivers will become one of Bollywood’s finest actors but Diljit looks determined to make it to the top.

From ‘Udta Punjab’ to ‘Phillauri’, Diljit always has something new to offer but his role as the hockey player, Sandeep Singh is what we are all looking forward to. The poster of his upcoming movie was doing rounds on the internet the day before and it looks like something we’d be more than happy to wait for. He seems to have nailed the look and his body transformation is worth all the praises.

Here’s what the first poster looks like:

The movie is directed by Shaad Ali and the audience gets to see Taapsee Pannu opposite Diljit.

Diljit looks ready and prepared to play the role and his we can’t wait to see him on the big screen as ‘Sandeep Singh’.

Despite being one of the most important sports in the country, Hockey hasn’t been given the kind of attention it deserves and we are glad at least someone has taken the efforts to bring this sport to the audience. Bollywood last spoke of hockey in Shahrukh’s ‘Chak De India’ and now it is Diljit who will bring the story of Sandeep Singh.

The story will revolve around Sandeep’s major comeback in 2008 after being wheelchair-bound for two years.

Not only did Sandeep make a major comeback, he was also made the captain of the team in 2009 and was also instrumental in India qualifying for the 2012 London Olympics.

Prior to ‘Soorma’, the month of March will also witness the release of Punjabi movie ‘Khido Khundi’ by Rohit Jugraj, which is based on the same subject. It will also be focusing on hockey as a sport and is a blend of fiction and non-fiction. The actors have been trained by Sandeep Singh to give the character more authenticity.

Looks like this 2018 is going to be hockey season in movies!
