9 Evergreen Bollywood Songs That Were Ruined By Rappers, Remixes And Autotune

Bollywood is something that is extremely close to most Indians. And what do producers do time and again? They peddle us songs by trying to cash in on the nostalgia and in this process, they ruined our memories.

Here are a few songs that filmmakers decided to remix and ruin for all of us.

1. Dil chori sadda ho gaya.

Hans Raj Hans has given us countless classics but Dil Chori Sadda Ho Gaya has a special place in every punjabi’s heart. Have you ever had a houseparty? You’ve played this song. And how does Bollywood ruin this instant classic? By adding Yo Yo Honey Singh. Please, Bollywood. Stop this.

2. Humma Humma from Bombay

Bombay did quite a few things right. One of the better things was about music. AR Rahman’s Humma Humma was used again in Ok Jaanu, but this time, it was ripened with the verbal diarrhea (which some refer to as rap) by Baadshah.

It took a huge dump on my childhood.

3. Dheere Dheere Se from Aashiqui

Aashiqui was one of the weirdest success stories in Bollywood. It had Rahul Roy as the lead, Deepak Tijori as the antagonist and some beautiful music to go along with it. But it worked. And just like everything else that works, a song from that movie was rehashed by Bollywood.

This song was brutally murdered by ‘new’ music and I’ll never forgive Bollywood for this.

4. Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta (Janbaaz)

Some things go well together. Thumps Up with Old Monk; my crush with my anxiety. Similarly, dukh bhari raatein after a breakup go very well with this song.

But postmodernism has to ruin everything. And that is exactly what happened to this song.

5. Kala Chashma (Baar Baar Dekho)

A staple in almost every Punjabi wedding ever, Kala Chashma has a special place in all of our hearts.

But it all changed when the new age musicians had to come ahead and ruin it all with their literal Ray-bans and Katrina Kaif’s revenge body. It was not about the song anymore and that hurt the most.

6. Dum Maaro Dum

The original version of the song is a legitimate attempt at capturing how the entire culture around marijuana works. It’s soothing and strikes a chord with you instantly.

What happens with the remix? It’s a clusterfuck of beats that are all about EDM and do little to justify the ‘trance’ culture. They took something so good and turned it into a burning pile of garbage.

7. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas(Blackmail)

One of the best Kishore Kumar songs got remixed and all my love for Bollywood died with this.

8. Tamma Tamma (Thanedaar)

One of the favourites for every 90s kid during a house-party is Tamma Tamma. For some reason, producers thought that it was a good idea to take a completely apt party song and add a little too much party to it.

In this overdose of party, everyone suffered.

9. Aaj Phir Tum Pe Pyaar Aaya Hai (Dayavan)

All my love for the original was lost after this. The remix doesn’t make a lot of sense and neither does the video aspect of this. Why did they do it? For the YouTube views and money.

Should they have done it? Absolutely no.
