These Are Some Of The Biggest Films Of 2017 That Failed to Recover Their Budgets

Everything said and done, the movie business is all about the moolah.

Movies that earned money this year were surprisingly the ones with low budgets. This year has only been a huge experiment held by Bollywood creators and it was surprising that movies like Shubh Mangal Saavdhan made it to the most profitable movies of the year.

2017 saw the movies featuring the biggest superstars perform lower than expected at the box office. The audience is not accepting anything you give them. They will only spend time and money on something that is worthy of their time. So here are the Bollywood movies that didn’t recover their budget this year.

#1 Jagga Jasoos


The budget of this extremely good looking musical that was clearly every kid’s dream was ₹131 crores. The movie only earned ₹80 crores at the box office.

#2 Rangoon


The multi starrer helmed by Vishal Bharadwaj was made on a budget ₹80 crores. Rangoon earned ₹41 crores at the box office.

#3 Raabta


The Sushant Singh RajputKriti Sanon starrer was about rebirth and the budget was ₹33 crores. It only ended up recovering ₹25 crores. 

#4 Sarkar 3


The Amitabh Bachchan starrer was made at ₹36 crores and only earned ₹20 crores. 

#5 Jab Harry Met Sejal


Shah Rukh Khan and Imtiaz Ali made a movie together at a budget of ₹119 crores. But it didn’t perform at the box office and made only ₹86 crores at the box office.

#6 Simran


Despite all the controversy surrounding the actress, Simran only earned ₹7 crores. It was made on a budget of ₹28 crores.
