BEST Bus Went On Strike And Twitter Was Absolutely Savage!
Over 3,500 buses of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking went off the roads in Mumbai after its workers’ union went on a strike to press for their demands, including timely payment of salaries. Nearly 36,000 BEST employees went on the strike since midnight.
The decision to announce the indefinite strike comes after the unions had gone on a relay strike starting August 1. They had to pull off their strike on August 3 after a member complained of health issues. The unions had demanded to increase salaries of the employees of the BEST and bring them at par with those in BMC.
But obviously, Twitter couldn’t stop talking about it.
Today is one of the BEST days of our lives. #BestStrike
