It might surprise you that Australia doesn’t already have a space agency.
The country has been involved in the space field for decades — in 1967, it was among the first countries to launch a satellite. The aeronautical industry is worth around $420 billion, and the move is set to create thousands of new jobs.
While the government will discuss its long-term plans at the 68th International Astronautical Congress, but the concept is already getting some traction online.
Yesterday, the Australia Research & Space Exploration website came to people’s attention – which bears quite an interesting acronym, ‘ARSE’
While people are still speculating whether this acronym might be a joke but Twitter can’t seem to stop talking about it. Interestingly, American Space Science (ASS) and British Universal Telescope Team (BUTT) have a similar acronym, which leads us to believe that this might not be a joke.
