To Shashji from your ‘babbua’ – Amitabh Bachchan Writes Emotional Letter to Old Friend

Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor have done about 12 movies together and they were two of the finest people who gave us some epic movies and dialogues that we will remember for years to come.

Shashi Kapoor breathed his last at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital on Monday and  left a void in the industry that can never be filled. Shashi Kapoor was 79 and had been on dialysis for a kidney ailment. Shashi is survived by his sons Karan and Kunal and his daughter Sanjana.

Shashi Kapoor had been keeping unwell for a long time and Amitabh Bachchan who happened to be a very close friend of the actor constantly prayed for his well being. Amitabh would often take to social media in order to express his prayers for his dear friend but this time Senior Bachchan was the last one to pay a tribute to his colleague and close friend.

Amitabh Bachchan’s blog will take you on a walk down the memory lane as he beautifully writes about the time when Shashi was to make his debut and how he introduced himself during social gatherings. He also opens about his insecurities when he thought he had no chance in the industry because of men like Shashi who came from the Kapoor clan and had exceptional looks.

He also clarifies how he did not visit Shashi quite often in the hospital and did not visit him this time either because he could not see his friend in a state like that. It broke his heart t0 see Shashi Kapoor unwell while he was the at the hospital.
