This Actor’s Insane Transformation To Becoming A Boxer For Mukkabaaz Is Unbelievable
It’s just about that time when a dozen or so New Year’s resolutions will kick in giving people around the world a reason to spend ₹20,000 on a gym membership which they will diligently attend for a week.
But if you’re looking for a little motivation to get that desperately needed exercise, look no further than the star of Mukkabaaz, Vineet Singh. The star of the film that took the Mumbai Film Festival by storm after he trained hard to achieve the correct physicality for his role as a small town boxer.
But his journey was long and hard, pushing him to his limits and showcasing the dedication of an actor devoted ot his role.
First off, the actor began his training at the age of 36, which is past the age that most boxers tend to quit.
He began his training in Mumbai but to eventually get in the right mindset he reportedly sold his belongings and headed over to Punjab. At the training center in Patiala, instructors noted how despite being relatively fit, Singh didn’t know the first thing about boxing but still stepped into the sparring ring on day 2.
But his drive caught the attention of former Indian boxing coach Harpreet Singh, who insists that he is always willing to help an aspiring boxer, regardless of age or gender.
Despite all the hardship and even occasional injuries, the final product on screen was as intimidating and authentic as we could have hoped for. The film directed by Anurag Kashyap will be hitting cinemas 12th January 2018.
