7 Bollywood Celebs Who Lashed Out Against False And Hate Fuelled News About Themselves

The rumor mill that dedicatedly churns Bollywood for gossip has made false news a part of their jobs.

After dealing with the incessant press surrounding their every action, it’s a miracle Bollywood actors get any work done. But sometimes false news goes a step too far, to the point where actors have to intercede and make sure the rumors surrounding them are silenced.

#1 Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan and his wife Susanne were a couple constantly under a harsh spotlight. Which is why when the couple opted for a divorce there was no end to the speculations surrounding the decision, one of them being that Susanne had asked for 400 crores as alimony.

Naturally upset about the happenings, Roshan lashed out on Twitter, saying about the media – “Fabricated news articles. Demeaning my loved ones. Testing my patience.”

#2 Farhan Akhtar

Twitter user Gaurav Pradhan got into hot water when he tried to pin a quote on actor/director Farhan Akhtar.

The quote in question was extremely divisive and was falsely attributed to Akhtar on Twitter.

Akhtar, however, was in no mood to tolerate the same and made sure his Twitter followers were informed about the quote being fabricated.

#3 Arjun Rampal

The actor and his wife Mehr Jessia have been committed to each other for a long time. But there was a point where rumors circulated about the pair filing for divorce at a Bandra court.

Rampal was not amused by the baseless rumors, however, having said “I don’t have any views as I feel people have more views than me” while in conversation with IANS.

He even took to Twitter to clear the air once and for all.

#4 Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh has always been candid about his personal life but has always drawn a line around matters he believes the media should have no say in.

Which is why he slammed a DNA report claiming that he had gone to seek psychiatric help after the death of a friend, in this heartfelt and enraged Facebook post –

Yo @dna @TusharrJoshi @SaritaTanwar … That was uncool, uncalled for and an
outright disrespectful imposition.

Talk about Monday morning blues. Picked up yesterday’s paper and read this
‘fairy tale’ of my depression about an intensely personal tragedy. Much worse,
it was shamelessly aligned with another person’s conflict and both these unrelated
stories were made to connect for a sensational effect; deplorable to say the least.
Figment of one’s imagination now taken to another level, in which there’s a dramatic
twist about a therapist too! Ludicrous! Obviously, the journo didn’t bother to check
the veracity of this ‘news’ with me or any one of my representatives-
Appallingly unethical! Classic case of utterly IRRESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM.
Is there any accountability? Or is the power of the pen now the terror of the pen?,”

#5 Farida Jalal

In 2017 news regarding the veteran actress’ death began making the rounds on social media. Except she was very much alive and kicking.

In an interview with DNA, the actress initially admitted to being amused by the rumor but found it eventually intolerable when she was flooded with calls.

“Initially I laughed, but from last 30 mins my phone have been constantly ringing and everybody is asking the same question. It’s a bit irritating, I wonder why people spread such rumours”.

The matter got serious enough that her publicist had to put out a Tweet to conclusively silence the falsehoods.

#6 Swara Bhasker

Swara Bhasker has been in and out of the news for days after her open letter addressing her problems with a small budget, an under-the-radar film called Padmaavat.

You might have heard about it.

But in all the back and forth, Shankhnaad posted a creative quoted Bhasker saying something rather controversial.

Except for the small matter that she didn’t say it at all. And she was happy to inform them about it.

#7 Prakash Raj

The esteemed actor was also featured on a creative similar to Bhasker.

This is far beyond simple rumors or falsehoods. Because when we begin to use someone’s identity to further an agenda they don’t even support, someone should be held accountable.Which is exactly what Raj thinks, so he made sure fans would know these words never really came from him.
