Ever Wondered Why There Are 3 Stars On The Indian Cricket Team’s Jersey? The Reason Will Make You Proud

There are 3 stars on India’s ODI jersey and the reason is something to be proud of.

India’s love for cricket is never ending and unconditional too. India is killing it this ODI season and we couldn’t be more proud of the men in blue! The amount of love and devotion we have towards the Indian cricket team has no boundaries.

Everyone remembers the night of 2nd April 2011 as India lifted the World Cup. The day is still fresh in our minds as Dhoni finished in style and said that they won it for Sachin. The celebrations after their victory and a ‘World Champions’ title feel like yesterday.

Kohli FI 4

Team India is seen sporting jerseys this ODI that have 3 stars above the BCCI logo. Each star symbolizes the three World Cup wins in the years 1983, 2007 and 2011. The men in blue literally carry their victories on their shoulders.Virat Kohli had this to say:

“I know there’s a billion-plus hopes always riding on our team. That’s why I try to play with responsibility and with respect to the team’s needs. The pressure’s always on, so my focus has to be too. I feel really proud – for me the Three Stars on the jersey represents what the Indian team is today and how much they have achieved. I feel really honoured to be a part of a team that has won three World Cups.”

We couldn’t be prouder to bleed blue.
