Here Are The Best Shows On Amazon Prime That You Need To Binge Watch Immediately
These shows are amazing.
If you really like watching good TV shows and movies and not the daily saas-bahu serials then you should actually try Amazon Prime. If you happen to watch shows when you are travelling to work/college and your weekends go on binge-watching, then this collection is surely helpful to you.
So I have been fiddling with Amazon Prime Video and they have some amazing shows that you should catch up on.
1. Person Of Interest
Do you like mystery or suspense? Then this show is for you. The show is basically about a reclusive billionaire computer programmer who develops a supercomputer for the government of the United States. The supercomputer is capable of identifying and predicting about the people who are planning terrorist acts in future.
But then he realises that the machine is capable of identifying other ‘to be criminals’. But since the government considers that part of information irrelevant, he takes law into his own hands. He teams up with an ex-assassin to save lives. The AI sends them the identities of civilians involved in impending crimes. However, the details of the crimes are left as a mystery for them to solve.
2. Mr. Robot
If you like technology or a reality, this show is for you. Mr. Robot is a techno-thriller which is about cybersecurity. Have you wondered what a person can you do with the information you have shared on social media? How there is nothing called as privacy?
The show is about Elliot, a young programmer, who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and as a vigilante hacker by night. He suffers from social anxiety disorder and clinical depression but is best in his job. But suddenly he finds himself at a crossroad when the mysterious leader of an underground hacker group called “fsociety” recruits him to destroy the firm he is paid to protect.
3. The Man In The High Castle
This show is all about – ‘What if’. Produced by Amazon Studios, this series is about an alternative history. These series visualize what would happen to Americans if Nazis and Allied powers had won the world war 2. It is loosely based on the novel by Philip K. Dick.
And the biggest reason to watch this is one man – Ridley Scott.
In this series, United States is divided into two puppet states: the Greater Nazi Reich and the Japanese Pacific States. The series follows characters whose destinies intertwine after coming in contact with a series of propaganda films.
Like the name suggests, Lore is a horror anthology series developed Aaron Mahnke. An Amazon Original, the series follows the podcast’s format and each episode tells us a new story.
Lore uncovers the real-life happenings that spawned our darkest nightmares. It has only 6 episodes but each episode has the main theme – fear and beliefs.
5. Young Sheldon
If you have watched The Big Bang Theory, then this series is a must! We have enjoyed Sheldon’s role and often wondered how he would be as a child. It seems we all don’t need to imagine.
Young Sheldon is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory and follows the character Sheldon Cooper at the age of 9, living with his family in East Texas and going to high school.
6. The Girlfriend Experience
This is one of those unusual shows that you might not see on Indian television.
A second-year law student, Christine Reade lands an internship at the law firm of Kirkland & Allen. But she struggles to balance her work, expenses and classes. Her world is turned upside down when her close friend encourages Christine to work as an escort.
Christine eventually makes the decision to work as a GFE, women who provide “The Girlfriend Experience” – emotional and sexual relationships available through the transaction of money.
I am sure we all know our parents have talked about investments, finance/savings in our life. But we neither understand it nor do something about it. Don’t worry, this series isn’t going to teach you how to save. But this series which is another Amazon Original talks about some interesting concepts.
Starring Adam Brody and Martin Freeman, this show is about a banker from Brooklyn, a Haitian gang lord and a Cuban hacker trying to create a potential multi-billion dollar business on ‘digital currency’, which could revolutionise the future of money itself.
In the world of crypto-currencies and dark web, the digital growth is riddled with drug traffickers and worse.
8. This Is Us
This is the show that is much much BETTER than our daily soaps. A series about a family and their daily struggles couldn’t have been portrayed any better. The series follows siblings Kate, Kevin and Randall as their lives intertwine.
The series has been nominated for Golden Globe Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, and was chosen as a Top Television Program by the American Film Institute.
This is easily the best show of 2016.
If you like crime based shows then this is the show that you need to watch. This show is about lawyers and their cases. Suits is a law firm in New York City. But this show is a little different.
A renowned lawyer Harvey Spector recruits a talented college dropout Mike Ross, as his law associate. What’s interesting is that Mike has never attended a law school.
10. The Mentalist
Have you watched Castle? This one is equally good.
The Mentalist involves a former ‘psychic’ Patrick Jane who is a consultant for CBI. He helps the police solve cases using his observational skills. But his major aim is to catch a serial killer who killed his wife and daughter.
11. The Night Manager
Another mystery/suspense series, this show is starred by Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. This show is a British television serial based on the 1993 novel by John le Carré.
The Night Manager has been nominated for 36 awards and has won 11, including two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes. Jonathan Pine, a Luxury hotel night manager and former British soldier is recruited by an intelligence operative.
Jonathan Pine tries to bring down the notorious arms dealer Richard Roper. He is described as “the worst man in the world” and is also responsible for the murder of Pine’s lover, Sophie.
This show is surely going to make you binge-watch the episodes. Dexter is based on the life of a forensic expert. But he is no ordinary good-guy.
Dexter Morgan is a blood spatter analyst and when he is not solving murders, he spends his free time as a serial killer.
He has urges and so, eliminates those people who have slipped through the cracks of the justice system.
So which one are you going to binge-watch?
