10 Teachers From Bollywood Films That Have Entertained Us Over The Years
There haven’t been many realistic portrayals of teachers in Bollywood films, but they sure have been entertaining! The teachers in Bollywood are exaggerated versions of real life people and they always come through in the end. Some of these characters are idealistic and heroic. While others have managed to make the audience laugh with their quirks.
If you’ve watched any of the films below you know these characters made a difference and made the film to what it is.
Amitabh Bachchan played the determined teacher who wanted everything best for his student Rani Mukherjee. This teacher-student duo definitely had us in tears.

Sushmita Sen played that teacher who every guy in class had a crush on. Although her role wasn’t serious, her character sure had some lighter moments in the film.
#3. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Okay I agree, Ms.Braganza (Archana Puran Singh) did less teaching, but she is definitely one of the sassiest and stylish teachers in Bollywood.

Aamir Khan was the best teacher anyone could ever ask. He saw potential in Darsheel Safari’s character and through unconventional methods brought out the best in him.
#5. Chak De! India
Shah Rukh Khan showed tough love in Chak De! and won hearts of the audience. His analysis of the team’s strengths and weakness helped in their victory. His focus on teamwork was one of the greatest lessons a student could ever learn.
#6. 3 Idiots
Boman Irani played that khadus teacher all of us had in our schools and colleges. He does come around in the end.
Kareena Kapoor plays the gutsy academic who gets embroiled with the wrong guy and fights for her survival in this film.
Akshay Kumar plays the physics teacher in this film. He fought to keep his family together and do the best of them. His character is truly inspirational and his persistence is something we can all learn.
Prabhu Deva pulling some sick moves as the choreographer truly inspired the audience to take dancing seriously. His character was very much revered in the film and he was that cool teacher.
Okay, so this film was a flop. But it did provide a commentary on the Indian education system. Shahid Kapoor and Ayesha Takia both played teachers taking on the injustice happening in school due to Principal’s atrocities.
