10 Simple Pleasures To Indulge In When You Find Yourself Home Alone!
I live with 4 other people in an apartment that I often find too crowded, too noisy, and too overwhelming. Privacy is rare and hard to come by. So on occasions that I do come home to find the house quiet and still and devoid of humans, my heart does a little somersault.
To have the place all to myself is a luxury that I make the most of by:
1. Walking around wearing little or nothing at all!
Being home alone gives you the perfect opportunity to strut around like a Victoria’s Secret model.
2. Eating my dinner while binge watching my favorite TV show in bed!
My mom’s super particular about “eating together at the dining table”. So it’s but obvious that when I’m alone, my dinner companions are the fictional characters I choose to invest my emotions in.
3. Sitting in any position – even the unladylike ones!
Legs folded, spread, bent at any angle up the wall. What better time to pretend you’re a cat than when no one’s looking?
4. Daydreaming for hours in the loo…
…and then falling asleep without anyone knocking at the door.
5. Staying in the shower for as long as I like
Shower time is sacred. First of all, the bathroom is the one place I can sing and sound nice. Second, I really want a chance to actually use that ridiculously expensive raspberry scrub I bought from The Body Shop the other day. So yes, I do need to stay in there for at least an hour or so.
6. Waking up whenever I want
The only opportunity I get to sleep in when there isn’t anyone around. No people talking, no pans clanging, and the washing machine isn’t whirring away. Pure bliss.
Without any people to make noise, I can actually take the time to think about things. If I’m feeling lucky, I’ll even give meditation a go!
8. Calling all my peeps over for a HOUSE PARTY!
Because honestly, I’m too tired and broke to go hang out at a club.
Hairstyles, room decor, food, sex, it can be anything. Suddenly there’s a judgment-free zone to try out the things you’ve always wanted to do!
10. Turning up the music…
…and dancing like no one’s watching. You can try out all those new moves you learned on YouTube without anyone to laugh at you when you fail.
That’s of course until the neighbourwali aunty comes knocking!
