Can This Get Anymore Bizarre? Injured Wahab Riaz Was Put On Sale At eBay
In sports, it’s quite normal for the athletes to get injured. After all, it’s a game. So there are chances that during the matches one might exert themselves get hurt due to unseen situations. During India vs Pakistan match, Wahab Riaz played against India in the team’s Champions Trophy opener on June 4 (Sunday) at Edgbaston. He was ruled out of the tournament following an injury during the match.
Perhaps, his under – performance might have left one of his fan really angry. He had already given 87 runs from 8.4 overs which are the most expensive figures in the history of the Champions Trophy. But right now, he doesn’t have the fitness to deal with. The left-arm pacer was put on sale on the e-commerce website eBay recently.
The Pakistani pacer did receive over 50 bids, with one user even bidding as much as 610 Australian dollars. The seller described him as “used” before adding “Some wear and tear. Hairy” in the description. The seller said Riaz “would make a good paper-weight or garden gnome”.
And the reason for selling him?
The user says that he was “selling it as I have upgraded to the Junaid Khan model”. And Junaid was the one who replaced Wahab in playing XI against South Africa in the ongoing tournament and made an impact. eBay has removed Riaz from the sale but it is surely interesting how fans react to a lost match!
